Spring Health & Beauty Tip 29 – Stay Happy
This is my last tip of the Spring Health & Beauty Tip series which aimed to bring you a tip a day for the month of May. I hope that you have found all the tips useful and have incorporated some into you life? I would love to hear which so please let me know by pressing the comment button and leaving me a message.
My final tip is Stay Happy because I honestly believe that most of our Health & Beauty comes from within and that happiness radiates through all the creams you can buy and salads you can eat.
I still have loads of cool stuff lined up for June so check back and see what’s new. You can also follow this blog. Just click on the follow button to the right or enter your email address and you will get an update when I post. You can also follow me on Facebook and Twitter.

Deliciously smooth skin
Spring Health & Beauty Tip 28 – Aveeno
This is my absolute beauty product of the moment. It was actually prescribed for my daughter who has eczema but I had to buy my own before I stole all of her as it made my skin so lovely. Aveeno is Oat based (most moisturisers are petroleum based) and just leaves you skin feeling gorgeous.
Definitely my hero product of the summer.

Breakfast to go…
Spring Health & Beauty Tip 27 – Breakfast in a Jar!
Ok, so I know that I am getting a little bit obsessive with the jars but they just make life so easy…. and a great way to up cycle any leftover ones you have.
For some reason it just makes things a thousand times easier on the morning when you can just grab a jar out the fridge rather than making something up… and once again, they just look so pretty!
Exact same principe as the Salad in a Jar post but this is breakfast. For me nothing beats plain no fat yogurt with Granola and Summer Berries.
As long as they are kept in the fridge, it should keep as long as the products would have before so usually a couple of days.
Got any other recipes? Leave me a comment and let me know.

Easy, healthy lunch on the move!
Spring Health & Beauty Tip 26 – Salad in a Jar!
If you are taking lunch somewhere, I think one of the most of putting things about salad is that it either required a big box, or you have to take all the bits with you to keep it fresh, the lettuce goes soggy in the dressing etc, etc….
Well not anymore! Since hearing about this idea I’ve become a little bit obsessed by it, partly because they just look so pretty and I love a jar!
Basically you want to make sure the dressing and harder parts are at the bottom and leafy bits at the tops so they don’t mix until you are ready to eat your salad so,
Take your empty jar….
- Pour in your salad dressing
- Then add hard chopped vegetables like carrots, cucumber, bell peppers etc…
- Next you add your grains and pastas including things like chickpeas, cooked rice or pasta etc…
- Softer vegetables such as avocado and tomotoes, or any soft fruits like strawberries or dried apricots etc… go in next
- This is where you would add nuts like pine nuts, walnuts, sunflower seeds and any softer more absorbent grains such as quinoa, Cous Cous etc…
- Finally, fill the rest of your jar with lovely leafy greens.
You can add meat, fish, hard boiled egg cheese etc… but just be aware that you would only want to add those on the day you are eating the salad. But otherwise, salads can be made a few days in advance so you can do a few at a time and grab one in the morning as you rush out the door.
Do you have any delicious salad receipts? Let me know in the comments box.

Nourish Your Skin
Spring Health & Beauty Tip 25 – Oat Bath
An oat bath is often recommended for kids who have chicken-pox which is actually how I found out about it. But it’s not just chickenpox’s that its good for, Oats and Oatmeal are fantastic for the skin.
Put some oats in a cloth and tie it around the bath tap so that as the bath is running the water is coming through the oats and cloth. This will produce a wonderful milk from the oats. Another little tip – I often use a hair band to secure the fabric around the tap.
- An Oat Bath is Cleansing – the oat particles stick to dirt and dead skin cells allowing them all to be washed away.
- It’s Soothing – which is why it is often recommended for chicken-pox or eczema.
- Its Moisturising – the oats restore moisture into the skin and balance the skins natural pH.
- It’s Protective – the milk from the oats leaves a lovely protective layer over the skin that makes you feel like you’ve moisturised as soon as you get out of the bath.

Love a Super Smoothie
Spring Health & Beauty Tip 24 – Super Smoothies
I love a smoothie. I just love imagining my cells being flooded with goodness as I drink them. So yummy and the fruit helps settle my sweet-tooth as well.
My real tip though is use Coconut Water in place of Milk. Great if you want to cut down on lactose and Coconut water is fantastic and rehydrating your body naturally. And the Coconut flavour goes great with fruit.
My Favourite Smoothie Recipe
- 250ml of Coconut Water
- 10 Strawberries
- Handful of Blueberries
- 1 Banana
- Tablespoon of Oats (keeps you fuller for longer)
Also, hoping the summer weather stays, you can chuck a lot of ice cubes in to make it seriously refreshing.

See what you want your world to be
Spring Health & Beauty Tip 23 – Vision Board
A Vision Board is a collation of images and affirmations that create a picture of the things you want. This is a slight continuation of tip 21 What Do You Want? as it can help to truly visualise what you have decided you want in your life and help keep you focused.
Once you have thought about what it is you want, scour magazines, online, draw pictures, anything that brings the vision of what you want to life. For example if you want to be healthier you may put on photo’s of fresh fruit and vegetables and someone working out.
You want to put it up in a prominent place so that you see it everyday. By seeing it everyday you keep your goals, wants and dreams in the front of you mind and yourself more focused on achieving them.
Remember there is no right or wrong when it comes to making a vision board, its a reflection of you and your wants.

Get those feet ready for sandals.
Spring Health & Beauty Tip 22 – Super Soft Feet
As the weather is starting to get nicer (not today but generally), it’s time to start thinking about getting our feet out of hibernation in our chunky socks and shoes and into flip-flops.
This tip comes from my friend and Spa Therapist extraordinaire Nikki Myers…
For dry, cracked or corse feet;
- Scrub then using Sea Salt mixed with a little Olive Oil.
- Rinse off
- Massage in lots of Vaseline
- Cover with socks and leave for an hour, or ideally over night
- The voila! Super Soft Feet

Stop thinking about what you don’t want and start thinking about what you do want….
Spring health & Beauty Tip 21 – What Do You Want?
So easy to focus on the bad and never the good. The problem with that is that you waste all your energy on the wrong thing. We also sometimes know that we don’t want what we have but we never truly think about what we do want or how we are going to make it happen.
So here are some questions to think about, try and answer them all and make the answers as detailed as humanly possible. The clearer the vision is in your mind, the more chance you will have of making it happen….
- What have you always wanted to do but been afraid to try?
- What prevented you from trying?
- What would you do if you couldn’t fail?
- What would you do if money wasn’t a consideration?
- What does the life you dream of look like?
Now you have identified what you want, think about where you are and where you want to be and map out all the steps between here and there. Break it down into very small steps so everything is achievable.
As the end of May is fast approaching and I am nearly coming to the end of my Spring Health & Beauty Tips season I thought it would be fun to hear from you, my lovely readers.
